The new VDSL top model: FRITZ!Box 7490
The new top model of the FRITZ!Box family combines gigabit speed, the latest hardware and technological highlights with the typical comprehensive FRITZ!Box spectrum of features.
Vectoring boosts VDSL rates
The FRITZ!Box 7490 builds on the upcoming WLAN 802.11ac standard.
Deployment of the latest vectoring technology prepares the FRITZ!Box 7490 for the next boost in VDSL rates. In vectoring the VDSL signal is optimized for the subscriber line by compensating for interference between adjacent lines. Even when many subscribers use the line, this allows a transfer rate of over 100 Mbit/s for each connection.
More speed and range with WLAN AC and WLAN N
For higher speed and greater range in home networks, the FRITZ!Box 7490 builds on the upcoming WLAN 802.11ac standard, with up to 1300 Mbit/s. For comprehensive communication in the home network, the FRITZ!Box 7490 supports both the 2.4 GHz (3x3 MIMO, 450 Mbit/s) and the 5 GHz (3x3 MIMO, 1300 Mbit/s) bands, so it is fully backward compatible to the 802.11a/b/g/n standards.
Highly equipped
It is also equipped with four gigabit LAN and two USB 3.0 ports. For convenient telephony the new 7490 incorporates a telephone system with answering machines, an integrated DECT base station for up to six cordless telephones and connection options for analog, ISDN and IP telephones. The new FRITZ!Box is designed for use with all telephone lines, whether IP-based, ISDN or analog.
Media server and Smart Home control center
The powerful media server streams images, videos and music throughout the entire home network, no matter whether the data are stored locally or in the cloud. And the latest FRITZ!OS software makes the FRITZ!Box 7490 a perfect Smart Home control center.
